Shirley Sterling died this year, but her vision continues at UIW. Through thoughtful planning during their lifetimes, Shirley and her husband, Leonard, provided for a generous scholarship for UIW business students, and the Sterling International Art and Artifact Collection housed in the Mabee Library.
We will soon celebrate the Christmas holidays and the wonderful season of joy and gift giving. At this time, we hope you will think about including Incarnate Word in your will and becoming a member of the Verbum Society, UIW’s planned giving society. Your planning today will keep Incarnate Word thriving for future generations. UIW is a special university that gives students life-changing opportunities through education and personal and spiritual growth.
Many of us put off creating our will. However, preparing a will is a necessary step in protecting our families. Dying without a will causes great stress to loved ones and leaves your estate to the decisions of the court.
Whether you are a young parent or approaching retirement, make a New Year’s resolution to draw up your will or revise it and protect those you love today. Adding a bequest is easy and can be changed at anytime. Consider adding UIW to receive a percentage of the residuary of your estate after other heirs.
