Possible Changes for Future
Homecomings
If you are looking for Homecoming and Reunions
2003 you have come to the right place, but you are just a bit late.
The event was from
April 11-13, 2003.
The Homecoming Committee has expressed concern
over the past few years about the dwindling number of attendees
each time, while the
work they do remains the same.
We have proposed that CLASS REUNIONS
as such be held every other April, and then have class reunions
by decades rather than individual
years. As such, the next full reunion would be in April 2005.
ALUMNI
HOMECOMING could be a single event twice a year: For example, connected
with LIGHT THE WAY in November each, and FIESTA in the
spring. The Sister Charles Frank Lecture in Nursing could still
be and annual event, tied to REUNION every other year.
And, we would
still honor the SILVER and GOLDEN anniversary classes, every year,
at the December and May commencement ceremonies. Everyone
seems to like this new tradition a whole bunch. Reunions are expensive
to organize and publicize, and at present they are not cost effective
for the alumni Operation. A celebration every other year may generate
interst and registrations.
