1980s
Allison Hicks-Mulvey ’88 BA was honored by The Irish Echo as one of the publication’s Irish Cultural Champions for 2017. She was honored for teaching children to write their names in either Ogham, one of the oldest written alphabets in the world, or the Irish Uncial alphabet.
1990s
Patricia Ruiz-Healy ’91 BA is owner and director at Ruiz-Healy Art. She transitioned from student and consultant to gallery owner with the opening of Ruiz-Healy Art in Olmos Park, Texas. She also runs an appointment-only gallery in New York City. She is one of only three International Fine Print Dealers Association members in Texas.
Ellen Chatterton ’92 MA after studying in Prague, Chatterton accepted a position teaching English as a Foreign Language at Learning Journey English School in Tanjung Pinang on Bintan Island, Indonesia.
Karla Pascarella ’98 BA joined the national construction law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C. as their construction and infrastructure lawyer as a partner at the firm’s Austin office.
Daniel DeGarmo ’99 BSN graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with a Ph.D. in nursing on August 15, 2017. His dissertation is “Comparing the Effectiveness of the Video Laryngoscope with the Direct Laryngoscope in the Emergency Department: A Meta-Analysis of the Published Literature”.
Christine Krueger ’99 BA ’06 MBA is a director of third-party management and senior property manager for Weitzman, a leading retail-focused commercial real estate firm. Krueger’s responsibilities include management of a San Antonio focused shopping center portfolio.
2000s
Arnulfo D. Hernández ’01 BA, managing partner of Hernández & Associates, P.C., was named a Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association. As a regional president, Hernández gains membership to the bar association’s Board of Governors and will preside over the organization’s Region XIII, which includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Lt. Col. Marypat A. Klee ’01 MA (Ret.), has launched the small business Dixie Wreaths by Marypat, which sells unique, one-of-a-kind handmade wreaths. For more information, visit facebook.com/dixiewreathsbymarypat.
Dr. Tina J. Siller ’04 BS, ’07 MBA, ’16 PhD graduated from the doctoral program with a Ph.D. in education with a concentration in organizational leadership and a certificate in adult education. Her dissertation title is “Alumni Commitment: Exploring the Process of Transition from Participants to Donors”. She currently serves as Alumni Association Board president and is assistant director of operations in UIW’s Extended Academic Programs Division.
Nedra Clingan ’09 MAA was presented the Dave Clark Lifetime Achievement Antonio Association of Health Underwriters (SAAHU). This prestigious peer award honors an individual who has consistently gone above and beyond all expectations. Clingan, a senior account executive for Renaissance Dental has been an active member of SAAHU since 2002.
2010s
Valerie Ramirez ’12 BAAS was named the San Antonio Association of Health Underwriters (SAAHU) Underwriter of the Year. This peer award is given to an individual who represents the epitome of professionalism as a health insurance agent. Ramirez, the director of account management of Davidson Camp Insurance Services LLC, has been an active member of SAAHU since 2012.
Crystal Wilkerson ’15 BA is currently working at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, and her work will be on display in the Globe exhibition gallery this fall.
Heather Miles ’16 DNP, RN, FNP-BC authored “Improving Provider AASM Guideline Adherence for Adult Obstructive Sleep Apnea,” (Miles, H. M., Dols, J. D., & DiLeo, H. A.), which was accepted to The Journal for Nurse Practitioners.
Litzie Garza ’16 DNP, RN, FNP-BC authored “An Initiative to Improve Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in Adults with Type II Diabetes Based on the ACC/AHA (2013) and ADA (2016) Guidelines,” (Garza, L., Dols, J.D., & Gillespie, M.), which was accepted to the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Cecilia Gutierrez ’17 BA is a meteorologist who covered Hurricane Harvey for Channel 5 News in McAllen, Texas. After graduating in May, Gutierrez returned to her hometown in the Rio Grande Valley and accepted the position as a meteorologist/reporter.
Daniel Santos Cantu ’17 BFA was accepted to the Gettysburg National Military Park U.S. Military Veteran Artist in Residence program. The National Park Arts Foundation is the only non-profit of its kind specifically focusing on opening doors for artists and veterans at our national parks and monuments.
Dr. Garrett D. Wentz ’17 OD has joined the staff of the Vision Center of West Texas in Lubbock, Texas.
SPOTLIGHTS
Enzo T. Pellegrino ’02 BBA CFP was named one of America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors 2017 by Forbes Magazine. Pellegrino founded Texas Legacy Wealth Management, an independent wealth management firm, in 2005 and is the company’s president. The Texas-native caters to his clients by planning their retirements and managing their investments. He is often featured in the media as a wealth management expert, including on KSAT-12 and News Radio 1200 AM as the “Money Guy.” The alumnus has also served as a past member of the Board of Trustees, UIW Planned Giving Council and as a past president of the Alumni Association. Pellegrino was the only wealth advisor named to Forbes list and was ranked 12th overall in the entire state of Texas. Forbes generated the list by evaluating a number of quantitative and qualitative data, such as “investing process, experience level and integrity,” and determined these to be the industry’s next leaders.
Teri Grub ’08 BA ’11 MAA, managing director and chief operating officer of South Texas Money Management Ltd., was named the 2017 Woman of the Year by the San Antonio Business Journal’s Women’s Leadership Awards. In her position, she works closely with the company’s CEO and president regarding firm operations, human resource management and client services, among other areas. Grub also sits on the boards of directors of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, Centro San Antonio – Public Improvement District, and The Hemisfair Conservancy. She also serves as a member of the resource committee for Guide Dogs of Texas, Inc. In both her professional and civic endeavors, Grub has proven to be a leader.
Priscilla Aguirre ’16 BA began her publishing career as a sports editor for the Seguin Gazette. Valerie M. Bustamante ’17 BA has also accepted a position as a general news reporter for the Seguin Gazette alongside her UIW friend Priscilla Aguirre.

Louise Rogillio White ’05 BA and her husband, Thomas White, announce the birth of their second son, Roosevelt Jude Scoffield, on Aug. 17 in Indianapolis, IN.
Erin Martinez ’06 BA and Marcus Martinez ’10 BFA welcomed Noah Daniel, UIW class of 2039, on May 30, 2017 in San Antonio. Noah joins older brother Isaiah Reed, UIW class of 2032, and older sister Brooklyn Rene, UIW class of 2034.
Erica McCraw ’14 BS and her husband Nick McCraw welcomed their first born, James David in the spring of 2017.

Joseph Torres ’08 BS ’13 PharmD and Alyssa Casas announced their engagement in the summer of 2017 in Cancun, Mexico. They will be getting married in the fall of 2018 in Spring Branch, Texas.
Ellyse Sanchez ’14 BA MA and Gilbert Lopez Jr. ’14 BA announced their engagement in the summer of 2017 in Tulum, Mexico. They will be getting married in the fall of 2018 in the Texas Hill Country.
