A unique international event, “Where Rivers Meet,” a triple bill featuring “Sumida River,” a classic Japanese noh play, and Benjamin Britten’s noh-inspired one-act opera “Curlew River,” never performed together as a single production.
With a special interlude by Texas Poet Laureate Carmen Tafolla.

Members of Theatre Nohgaku, an international troupe specializing in noh
Richard Emmert, professor of Asian Theatre and Music at Musashino University (Tokyo)
Russell Jackson, organist and director of music at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas
Jubilith Moore, a graduate of Bard College and founding member of Theatre Nohgaku
Eitaro Okura, a 16th generation noh musician
Kinue Oshima, one of the few professional female noh actors (Kita school)
