UIW’s Extended Run Players are pleased to announce the receipt of a $5,000 grant awarded to the organization by the Genevieve and Ward Orsinger Foundation.
The grant allows the Extended Run Players to take their production of “Memories on Review: Tales from World War II” to area high schools free of charge. This readers’ theatre production consists of memories of veterans as shared in personal interviews since 2003, music from the World War II era and a slide show of scenes from the war.
High schools that have already reserved a date for the show include Brackenridge, Brennan, Brandeis, Steele, Edgewood, Incarnate Word and Southwest.
Founded in 1966, the Extended Run Players are a group of theatre lovers, ranging from seasoned veterans to stage struck tyros, all still growing and learning from one another. Since 1997, 100 percent of the profits from the productions have been donated to an endowed scholarship for theatre arts majors, providing ever-growing scholarship support for talented UIW undergraduates.
