Dr. Mary Ruth Moore, professor in the Dreeben School of Education, recently co-presented “Remember the Alamo: The Story of the Alamo Chapter of the U.S. Play Coalition” at the Value of Play Conference at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. Leslie Sprague, the education director of the San Antonio Children’s Museum, and Lacy Morrison, of the San Antonio Zoo’s Tiny Tot Nature Spot, presented with her.
The presentation explained the formation of the new Alamo Chapter of the U.S. Play Coalition on April 22, 2010, following the play symposium “Saving Children: A Call for a Contemporary Child Saving Movement for the 21st Century.” Founding partners in the Alamo Chapter include the University of the Incarnate Word, the San Antonio Children’s Museum and the San Antonio Zoo.
The Alamo Chapter is the first such chapter to join under the umbrella of the U.S. Play Coalition.
