New academic agreements bring more together than top administrators
for a nice lunch they generate opportunities for students
and the local workforce of San Antonio. Over this past spring semester,
two agreement-signing ceremonies were held at the University of
the Incarnate Word. One marked the development of a new undergraduate
program, and the other opened another door to students who want
to study and travel abroad. (read

Board Helps UIW Reach Goals

"Helping Incarnate Word raise scholarship funds is a way to
give back to my alma mater and to invest in the future of today's
students," says Tom Jackson, UIW alumnus and current chairman
of the University's Development Board. A member of the board since
1994, Jackson is a retired U.S. Army colonel who volunteers for
a variety of community organizations, but counts his work with the
university as his most rewarding. (read

Honorees
In the academic year of 2000-2001, UIW graduated over 800 promising
young students. Alongside the millenium graduates, alumni, community
members and administrators were also honored for their achievements.
