The Jones Korean Dance Group performs at the 2014 Asian New Year Celebration.
Approximately 500 students, faculty, administrators, and San Antonio community members attended this year’s Asian New Year celebration, sponsored by UIW’s Institute of World Cultures, on Feb. 15 in Marian Hall Ballroom. In addition to UIW’s Lion Dance Team, performers included Mary Martha McNeel and Michael Graves (Tai Chi instructors at UIW); Chinese student, Crystal Yi (Belly dancing); Jones Korean Dance Group (Korean Folk Dance); among others. The event also included booths featuring Japanese calligraphy, Japanese origami, a Chinese tea ceremony, and much more.
